Kuwait City: Gandhi Jayanti, marking the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, was observed in Kuwait on 2 October 2026 with a commemorative programme organised under the leadership of the Embassy of India, Kuwait.
The programme was organised to commemorate the life, philosophy and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. Indian students and local artists in Kuwait came together to present different aspects of Gandhi’s life and journey through various forms of performing arts.
The programme highlighted significant phases of Mahatma Gandhi’s life and brought his ideals to the stage through artistic presentations. The participation of both Indian students and local artists added a cultural dimension to the commemorative event.
The central themes of the performances were Gandhi’s enduring principles of truth, non-violence and peace. Through the presentations, the organisers sought to introduce Gandhi’s life and philosophy to the younger generation while highlighting the continued relevance of his ideals.
The participation of Indian students was one of the notable aspects of the programme. The event provided them with an opportunity to learn about Mahatma Gandhi’s life and contributions and express their understanding through performing arts.
The involvement of local artists also reflected the cultural interaction and people-to-people ties between India and Kuwait. Bringing Indian students and Kuwaiti artists together on a common platform provided an opportunity to celebrate Gandhi’s universal message through culture and the arts.
